One Minute Film Fest: 30th Anniversary Special
- Sat, May 2
Run Time: 60 min.
For those that are in the know, Zoetropolis theatre started on Lemon Street in the 1990s and was basically the coolest ever. It was a tiny spot with Leigh Lindsay and her partner Scott Miller running the whole operation from selling tickets, running inside to sell concessions and then starting the movie on 35mm film reels. It was as OG as art house can be and Lancaster is incredibly lucky to have this in our history since not every town was doing things this awesome back then. It was the age of big bucks in the mexaplexes.
Due to the cool factor, Zoetropolis took it a step further and had a one minute film festival. The idea was to have individuals create their own film, one minute in length and we compiled them for a 60 minute program for all to see. This was in the time of no cell phones and near the time when DVDs were a new thing. The image above is the actual DVD cover.
Now that the 90s are cool again, we invite you to see an art project that proves how innovative and artistic our community and Zoe have been since the beginning. Two screenings of the original 1 hour, 1 Min. Film Fest will show on Saturday, May 2.
