When archaeologist Angus Flint (Capaldi) discovers a large, unidentifiable reptilian skull at the site of a former Derbyshire monastery, local legends surrounding a creature known as the d’Ampton worm are revealed to be rooted in, among other things, an ancient pagan cult stewarded by immortal vampire-snake priestesses in a lot of vinyl.
