Jaws to the World: A Holiday Sock Opera

Coming on December 9

Run Time: 45 min.

Lancaster, PA: Just when you thought it was safe to put your socks back on, Creative Works of Lancaster presents “Jaws to the World: A Holiday Sock Opera,” the musical sock puppet parody of the original summer block-buster, Jaws, on Friday, December 9th, 2022, at Zoetropolis Cinema Stillhouse, 112 N. Water Street, with performances at 6:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m., and 10:00 p.m.

On hiatus since “Sock Puppet Star Wars: The Skywalker Sock-a,” in December 2018, the Creative Works’ Sock Puppets will daringly go back in the water ten years after the premiere of “Jaws to the World: A Holiday Sock Opera” in 2012 at the Lancaster Dispensing Company. We’re bringing it back by popular demand (or at least by demand of a few of our popular fans).

“Jaws to the World: A Holiday Sock Opera” promises to thrill and delight with singing sharks, cardboard boats, and severed limbs as five actor-puppeteers wield a cast of over thirty custom-designed, handmade sock puppets. Originally written by playwright and former Creative Works board member Erich Goldstein, the script has been newly updated and refreshed with Erich’s blessing by current board member Alexander Bannon. Musical Director Joshua Schwartz from the original production triumphantly returns to helm the cast’s forays into rock, pop, and Christmas carols.

Creative Works’ Pay What You Decide (PWYD) ticketing mode guarantees we will never turn away a potential audience member due to financial limitations, and you never need to risk feeling like your experience did not match what you paid. Audience members simply reserve a ticket in advance and pay what they think the experience was worth after the performance. Tickets can be reserved through the Creative Works of Lancaster website: www.creativelancaster.org. Tickets will also be available at the door, though reservation is encouraged.

Creative Works of Lancaster receives state arts funding support through a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
