Hiroya Tuskamoto

Hiroya Tsukamoto is a Japanese-born fingerstyle guitarist who moved to the United States in 2000 to attend the Berklee College of Music. Needless to say, he’s not only a dizzyingly agile fingerpicker, but a soulful and transcendent performer, with compositions that combine instrumental guitar work with lyrical performance and spoken stories from his life.

Tsukamoto has been recognized for his talents on stages such as at Blue Note in New York City, Japanese National Television (NHK), International Storytelling Center and United Nations, and by scoring second place at the International Fingerstyle Guitar Championship both in 2018 and 2022.

Did a sound made in front of you just appear behind you? Most importantly, are these spatial elements integrated with and structurally critical to the composition? Otherwise they are just gimmicks.”

Rusty Banks is a composer/guitarist born in Jasper, Alabama and living in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. His compositions have been performed in China, Taiwan, France, Italy, Belgium, Croatia, Germany, The Netherlands, Iceland, Canada, and Mexico, as well as throughout the United States. Besides writing concert music for ballet, orchestra, wind ensemble, and other acoustic ensembles, Rusty designs pieces that use traditional performers, user-end electronics, and video within dynamic audio/video installations.

Composer/Guitarist Rusty Banks presents a work for guitars and electronics called _Slow Burn_. Differing from his normal compositional style, _Slow Burn_ uses loops of delicate sounds to create an ambient tapestry to provide open sections for improvisation. Aesthetically, the work is something between a post-minimalist composition and solo jazz exploration.
