Maya de Vitry
~ Celebrate the release of Maya’s latest solo album: How to Break a Fall ~
~ Doors @ 7PM – Showtime @ 8PM – $15 – All Ages ~
Through lived experiences and characters she’s created, Nashville musician Maya de Vitry reclaims her story in her second solo album, How to Break a Fall. These 12 stunning songs are the result of what she calls “an interior reckoning,” both as an artist and as a woman. “This album is about losing your balance, and landing without breaking yourself or breaking your spirit,” she says. “The stories on this record are also about how to get on your feet, how to move, and how to keep trusting yourself to take another step.”
Produced by Dan Knobler, the project brings together de Vitry’s folk roots with the revelations of rock ‘n’ roll. Session musicians include Courtney Hartman (guitar), Ben Tanner (piano, organ), Ethan Jodziewicz (bass) and Jason Burger (drums), with de Vitry and Knobler on guitar as well.
This is Maya’s hometown CD release celebration, and Maya will be joined by guitarist and singer-songwriter Anthony da Costa, whose playing was featured on her first solo record, Adaptations. Anthony will also play a set of his own music to open the evening!
