The 2023 Off The Reel Film Festival celebrates the art of filmmaking while empowering filmmakers to share their perspectives with communities all over of the world. Our festival is curated with today’s filmmakers in mind—fully aware of the ongoing balancing act between “passion projects” and content upkeep for clients.
The selections of this year’s showcase is dedicated to presenting short films, music videos, and mini documentaries produced by independent filmmakers along the east coast of the United States and all over the world. Off The Reel Film Fest is not only focused on exhibition, but also education and community. Each year we curate an industry- leading panel discussion amongst our community leaders to equip our festival attendees with practical knowledge intended to turn their creative ideas into moving pictures.
This year’s theme is “Create & Let It Go” — a reminder that no matter what your idea is, just go for it. Get the ideas out and move the needle toward your career in filmmaking forward. Making a film can be one of the most exhilarating, rewarding, and challenging journeys a person can ever embark on.
It is our goal to motivate filmmakers all over the world to submit work that is personal, uncompromising, ruminative, and illuminating. We want filmmakers to get out of their heads and away from the loop of feeding the “content beast”. It’s time to get those projects off your reel and into the material world.
